Lighting is the most transformative layer in any interior. It sets mood, draws the eye and turns a beautiful room into an unforgettable one. That is why we are delighted to announce that Hudson Valley Lighting Group is now available in Australia through Cocolea, with a curated selection of its most sculptural chandeliers, pendants, wall sconces and lamps now in our collection — and 15% off the recommended retail price to celebrate the launch.

Who is Hudson Valley Lighting Group?

Founded in New York's Hudson Valley, Hudson Valley Lighting Group (HVLG) is the family of American lighting houses behind Hudson Valley Lighting, Corbett Lighting, Troy Lighting, Mitzi, Schoolhouse and CSL. Each brand has its own voice, but they share a commitment to solid materials, hand-applied finishes and designs that feel collected rather than mass-produced. It is a natural partner for Cocolea, where we favour pieces with presence, craftsmanship and a story.

The brands we have curated

Corbett Lighting: jewellery for the ceiling

Corbett is the most glamorous voice in the group and the heart of our edit. Think hand-applied gold leaf, vintage brass and a fearless use of natural materials. The Celeste Chandelier twists clear cast glass beads around curving brass LED tubes, while the Agatha Chandelier drapes K9 crystal in sweeping swags. For a more organic mood, the Aimi Chandelier clusters natural coco shell discs, and the Cartagena cascades capiz shell. Corbett also excels in stone: the Goshenite flush mount and Goshenite sconce set domed alabaster in an architectural brass frame, and the Ares sconce glows through ice onyx like mother-of-pearl.

Hudson Valley Lighting: materiality and proportion

The group's namesake brand plays with proportion and natural stone. The Lawrence Park and Highland Mills table lamps celebrate travertine, while the cymbal-like Anoka Pendant stretches a slim opal shade to over a metre wide.

Troy Lighting and Mitzi

Troy brings a relaxed, sculptural sensibility: the Aldean semi flush branches cloud glass across the ceiling, and the Cullen floor lamp stacks gilded ‘stones' inspired by Scottish dry-stone walls. Mitzi's Elowen picture light is our pick for gallery walls and art collections.

How to choose and size a statement chandelier

  • Over a dining table: choose a diameter roughly half to two-thirds the width of the table and hang it 75–90 cm above the tabletop.
  • In an open room or entry: add the room's length and width in metres; the total, converted to centimetres, is a good starting diameter (a 5 m × 4 m room suits a chandelier of about 90 cm).
  • Long tables and islands: a linear chandelier keeps light even along the surface; allow about 15 cm of table at each end.
  • Low ceilings: a semi-flush such as the Kitz gives chandelier presence without the drop.
  • Layer your light: pair ceiling fixtures with wall sconces and table lamps in a matching finish for a warm, layered evening glow.

Living finishes: brass that ages beautifully

Many HVLG pieces are offered in living finishes such as vintage brass, patina brass and aged brass. These are designed to deepen and develop character over time, so each fixture becomes more personal as it ages — an approach we love alongside the travertine, marble and timber in our Travertine Collection.

Australian specification and installation

Every fixture we supply is confirmed to Australian specification before it goes into production: 220–240V / 50Hz, the correct Edison screw lampholder and an Australian plug or terminal block as the fitting requires. We confirm globe type, finish and lead time with the maker on every order.

Electrical compliance is our responsibility as the importer, not something we pass to you. Hard-wired fixtures must be installed by a licensed electrician, and your electrician will want the compliance documentation — ask us and we will send it with your quote. Pieces are made to order and shipped from the United States, with white-glove delivery Australia-wide.

Launch offer: 15% off RRP

To celebrate the arrival of Hudson Valley Lighting Group, every piece in our edit is 15% off its recommended retail price. Our RRP is benchmarked to the maker's published list price, converted to Australian dollars, so you can buy with confidence.
