When Le Bar Supper Club reached out to us, eager for a new furniture fit out for their intimate restaurant and bar, we knew we had an exciting task on our hands.
The venue, if you haven’t visited, is set in Beaumaris in Melbourne, and pays homage to the romantic Paris/New York supper club era of the 1920s.
Think, black and gold finishes, elegant marble, chandeliers dripping crystal; it was a dream come true for the team at Cocolea and set many of our hearts’ racing.
In case you’re unfamiliar with what we do, we create beautiful, opulent bespoke furniture for a range of clients after something a little bit different.
The company was created in 2016 by founders Cristian and Dorina, who have a passion for –and are obsessed with – creating timeless and unique pieces.
We only use the finest luxury material in our designs; plush velvets, brass, copper, natural wood, resin, aged-leather and other unique design features such as 24ct gold leaf, Swarovski and semi-precious stones.
So, when Le Bar Supper Club contacted us, we couldn’t have been more excited. To two companies who live and breathe the same vision? Well, only good things could come of it.
When you walk through the doors diners will be instantly transported back in time.
Smoky gold crystal chandeliers hang from the ceiling, emanating a warm light and brassy brush gold accents only add to the warmth. Inviting plush black velvet seats and booths invite diners to relax after a long day of toil. This is juxtaposed by matte black touches, which give a sense of modernity and intrigue.
The team at Cocolea made all the ornate mirrors featured in the venue, all seating – including those heavenly and private booths – all lighting, tables, and beautiful stone work including the gold speckled granite bar and natural onyx bathroom basins.
The job took us just six months to complete from designing the furniture concepts to delivery.
