The Flex 50BY is a three-sided bay firebox that brings a living flame into a room from almost every angle. Designed to be built into joinery or a wall cavity with true zero clearance, it needs no flue or chimney, making it a favourite for renovations, apartments and hospitality fit-outs where a conventional fireplace is out of the question.
Part of EcoSmart Fire's modular Flex system, the 50BY is fabricated from zinc-sealed mild steel finished in a high-temperature black powder coat, with a Grade 304 stainless steel burner in brushed stainless or black ceramic. Glass on the front and both sides frames a viewing area of 1270 mm, and black glass charcoal is included to dress the burner tray.
Choose an all-flame configuration powered by the XL900 burner, with 9 litres of fuel for eight to thirteen hours and around 15.83 MJ/h (4 kW) of warmth, or a box left or box right configuration using the XL500, offering ten to thirteen hours of burn time. The 50BY has been recognised with a 2020 BIMsmith Best Award and a 2018 Attendees Choice Award in the USA.
Supplied with XL baffles, a 5 litre jerry can, a bottle adaptor, a lighting rod and a fire lighter. Every EcoSmart burner is O-TL listed to UL 1370 in the USA, BSI certified to EN 16647 in Europe and the UK, and compliant with the ACCC bioethanol safety mandate here in Australia.
